Mental Health

According to UNICEF, at least one in every seven children has been seriously impacted by lockdowns, and more than 1.6 billion children have lost some educational opportunities. During COVID-19, teenagers are one of the most vulnerable groups.

Depression

The pandemic generated isolation and loneliness because of quarantine, social distancing, and overall staying at home to avoid being infected. Isolation and loneliness can exacerbate or aggravate depressive symptoms.

Anxiety

One of the roots of anxiety is worry. Stress can be triggered by COVID-19-related dread and ambiguity. We're amidst a global epidemic, with many areas shut down entirely or partially and others trying to go back to work. Some of us reside in regions where coronavirus infection rates are increasing, and there is no immediate answer for how to halt this epidemic.

Stress

The high daily rates of new cases and deaths, along with the barrage of information that people are exposed to from the media, can cause anxiety. Anxiety is often caused by the loss of face-to-face classes, the inability to take a break by strolling outside, or the lack of contact with others.

How To Cope

Self-care can help you cope with stress, anxiety, and depression. Take the opportunity to eat well, exercise regularly, and get enough rest. Watching your comfort movies, investing in a new hobby, or going over your beauty routine may all help you improve.

Make sure you don't lose your connection! We are all human, and venting or talking about your thoughts with friends or family may help you relieve tension and emotions building up.

If you are unable to cope with fear and anxiety on your own, do not hesitate to seek professional guidance. If receiving medications and adequate therapy appears to be the best option for you, go ahead and do it.

How Can You Help Others?

If you see your loved ones struggling during these times, don't be afraid to reach out to them! This can be done once a day or multiple times a week. A simple act such as a text or call might help alleviate feelings of sadness and isolation.

The news lately has been depressing, with worldwide conflicts and serious issues. Instead, we can always make an effort to spread kindness and compassion. Sharing good stories, amazing discoveries, or expressing gratitude for those you care about may significantly enhance someone's day.

Listening to people talk about their days, whether positive or negative, may be beneficial. Everyone is going through these difficult circumstances simultaneously, so keeping an open ear and being available to others can be therapeutic to others.

I have always been fond of writing as a kid, making

short fiction stories and reading children's literature.

As I grew older, my passion for writing developed into

submitting for zines!

Aside from writing, I enjoy sewing! I am an advocate

for slow fashion, so making my own clothes is a good

way to support what I stand for.

I am passionate for feminism, global and local issues, etc.

I decided to join Teens We Care! I am excited to share my

stories through this organization and make new friends!
