“Feminism is about giving women a choice, feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women with. It's about freedom, it's about liberation, it's about equality” – Emma Watson

For many years we women have lived under a system led by men, which has brought us under rules and traditions where we've been trampled and hurt. But finally, we have decided to write an end and fight for our rights, respect, security, and equality.

A lot of people ask why feminism is so important? Well here are some reasons out of a thousand.

1. All over the world, every day there are a lot of femicides

In Mexico where every day ten women are killed, or in the United States where in 2019, 1800 women were murdered, or even in Brazil where during the pandemic 1338 women were killed by gender violence.

2. Sex and violence.

Sex has been used as a weapon and threat, a lot of women all over the world have suffered sexual violence from their male partners, relatives, friends, and strangers.

Also while men are allowed to have an open sexual life without being criticized, women are fully criticized by having it, which is used as a reason to deny us an opportunity.

3. Fewer opportunities

There has always been a gap of difference when getting a job between men and women, we can still notice this in a lot of roles and positions, one big example of this is politics, where every important and big role is mostly led by men and the lowers one's why women.

Also in sports, it's still noticeable how male teams have way more attention than female ones when we have the same skills and talent.

4. Respect

In the time of our grandparents and even in ours, we can notice hundreds of teases toward us in Music, cartoons, insults, etc.

Many people use the words p**** and vagina as an insult, or when they say “don’t be such a little girl”, referring to the fact that women are weak or that we are objects.

Having said all this, we can see how our society is still wrapped in a great layer of misogyny, machismo, and inequity. Many people still take feminism as a joke and it is our task to change that.

WE DESERVE EQUALITY, RESPECT, AND PEACE!

Hi! I'm Isis, a teenager with so many goals and

desires.

Sometimes as teenagers we tend to think that

we are not powerful enough to impact on

people, that's why I created a project named

Blue Tlalli which seeks to make awareness about

the environmental crisis.

I have a lot of passions in which I'm trying to be

the best at, like speaking many languages,

because I already speak Spanish and English, and

I am learning Italian and Portuguese.

Also some of my hobbies are to dance and to

improve at make up.

I believe no one is too small to create an impact,

that's why I hope you like my blog.
